Wedding & Event Venue

Spirit of Texas Lives On

Capturing the spirit of the Hill Country is a Texas-sized task. The Western Sky Wedding & Event Venue exceeds expectations. The venue boasts a charming outdoor chapel by a sparkling river, a modern rustic ballroom soaring with 30-foot ceilings and a covered porch perfect for sipping cocktails and admiring stunning sunsets.

The venue graces the landscape of a 70-acre working ranch, yet it’s only 15 minutes from San Antonio, near Loop 1604 and Blanco Road.

“Western Sky is on the front porch of the Hill Country,” says Lindsay Holliday, the venue’s director of sales.  “We’re located close to town, but when you get here, you feel like you’re in a secluded getaway.”

Modern Rustic Ballroom

As wedding guests approach Western Sky, the driveway unfolds iconic Texas images, including horses and Longhorns.

In the ballroom, the open feel of the scenery continues with plentiful windows revealing verdant oaks. Pristine white wood walls, elegant ceiling draping and cascading vintage chandeliers adorn the venue that accommodates up to 300 guests for dinner and dancing.

“The ballroom’s light and airy ambiance provides a beautiful setting for couples to decorate according to their vision,” Holliday says.

The Western Sky wedding package supplies banquet tables and chairs, as well as seven rectangular farmhouse tables ideal for wedding party seating, a buffet or sign-in, cake or gift tables. The ballroom features a full stage, concrete stained floors, an impressive built-in wraparound bar, abundant parking and a catering prep kitchen.

Western Sky venue manager, Becca Roach, helps couples design their event’s floor plan, is present throughout their celebration to assist vendors and offers planning guidance.

“If the couple needs catering, floral, DJ, photography or other vendors, I can give suggestions,” Roach says. “They are also welcome to bring their own vendors if they already have someone in mind.”

Vintage Chapel by a River

Just steps away from the ballroom, Western Sky presents a picturesque ceremony setting. A charming bridge that crosses a gentle river stream leads to a white wooden chapel with antique windows.

“Brides can make a dramatic entrance by crossing the bridge as they walk to the chapel,” Holliday describes. “With the oaks, river and its sparkling rock waterfall, the scenery is so gorgeous that couples don’t have to do a lot to dress up their ceremony.”

The venue rental includes the ceremony and reception sites.

“Many couples choose to host their ceremony, cocktails and reception here so that their guests don’t have to travel from place to place,” Roach says.

Before exchanging vows, brides relish their time in the ballroom’s bridal suite. Walls of full-length mirrors, spacious vanities, cozy sofas and dainty chandeliers allow the ladies to get dressed and have their makeup and hair done in comfort. The gentlemen can relax in the groom’s lounge.

Rodeo Rehearsal Dinner

Western Sky’s proximity to Tejas Rodeo and Tejas Steakhouse offers family and friends a rehearsal dinner evening to remember.

“If the rehearsal is on a Saturday night, they can enjoy the thrills of a real rodeo,” Holliday adds. “From the rehearsal dinner to the ceremony and reception, we customize each event to give couples and their guests an authentic Hill Country experience.”
