How They Met

Caleb and Jeannette meet during their senior year in high school. They attended Winston Churchill High school, where they had an English class together.

“This wrestler sat in front of me,” Jeannette said. “Now my husband. He would turn around every day and try to name my unborn son while I would show him pictures of my new sonograms. This is where it all began.”

The Proposal

The proposal happened on Christmas Eve in 2016. The couple just had their first child together that November.

“He told me to get dressed nice,” she said. “Wear some heels.”

Jeannette had not one inkling of an idea that he would propose.

They arrived at Caleb’s parent’s house, and once it was time to open presents, Caleb had her sit down on the couch. He handed her a small Christmas bag. Inside was a small tree stump that swiveled. Etched into the top of the wood stumped read Marry Me?

As she was opening the bag, his brother started playing the couple’s song “With You I Am” by Cody Johnson.

Caleb got down on one knee and asked.

“With every ounce of my being I said yes as he slipped this beautiful rose gold ring on my finger,” she said. “He made the ringer holder out of our Christmas tree. It was so special.”

The Wedding

“I’m in love with plants so I needed plants and moss to be incorporated,” she said. “And I also really liked the bohemian aspect of the macrame the pampas. I wanted an oasis of plants with a pop of boho.”

Unique elements of the wedding were none other than the dress and venue.

“I had this vision and it was everything I wanted,” she said. “Also the venue. Holy cow, the animals, the stained glass, the beautiful home. The location was everything! My father passed away, so I had my brother walk me down the aisle and my children. I feel that’s pretty unique.”

The Vendors

The couple visited several venues around the outskirts of San Antonio until they finally got to Harper Hill Ranch.

“We realized that the other places did not compare,” Jeannette said. “It was beautiful, affordable, amazing accommodations. It was everything we wanted.”

As for the vendors, the couple went with those who they couple and the venue had either worked with or knew them.

“We wanted to support smaller businesses,” she said. “The ones we found fit us perfectly.”

One of the vendors that stood out to the couple was their photographer.

“My photographer, hands down, I’m so beyond happy I found her,” she said. “The photos that I have for the rest of my I will never get tired of showing. Ana was everywhere! She and the owners of the venue were so amazing. They took me and my husband on their gator to take some awesome pictures in the fields.”

Advice from the Couple

“Don’t fall in love with the first one you see. Look on the out skirts. There are hidden gems! Pros and cons are always a great way to narrow down.”
