Wedding Story

How did they meet?

Alexander and Alexandra met on the infamous Bumble app. Although she was not fond of online dating, she gave bumble a chance. After about a week of talking it was obvious they were meant for each other. They have spent every day together since then.

Tell us about the proposal

Alexander proposed on Christmas Day in their new home. Alexandra had just finished cooking a huge Christmas dinner. Her entire family was there to witness.

Another special addition to the proposal was their 5-year-old neighbor. She made alexander a “love rock” to have in his pocket. She explained that the purpose of the rock was to give him courage to ask me to marry him that. It worked!

What inspired the design of the wedding?

Alexandra wanted white everything!!

Her idea was Persian Royalty in a winter wonderland and boy did she have just that! From camels, belly dancers, silk performers… to frosted trees… 12+ foot wedding train and an almost 5ft tall wedding cake. This wedding had it all!

“I wanted the wedding to celebrate both Persian and Latin cultures x100”, claimed Alexandra.

Why did you choose the wedding venue and vendors you did?

The sky was the limit with the Tobin Center in downtown San Antonio. This venue is a blank canvas with endless possibilities.

“They were professional and wonderful to work with. Food was outstanding, we had so many compliments from guests.”

The venue allowed Alexandra to do everything she wanted. The dancers coming from the ceiling, camels, the levitating introduction of the newlyweds, everything!

What were some of the most unique elements of your wedding?

“My one of a kind gowns, camels… How we were introduced on a levitating platform! Silk acrobats! Our invitations and our seating charts were all made out of acrylic. My goal was to make sure there was never a dull moment the entire night. My goal was to have the most memorable night for my husband and I, but also for the guests.”

Less than two weeks before the wedding, Alexander and Alexandra decided to take dace lessons and coordinate a dance to Fireball by Pitbull. Turns out the dance instructor was a friend of a friend who ended up attending the wedding!

Did any of your vendors exceed your expectations? Share details!

According to the couple, JC Film Group was the best decision they could’ve made. They captured the wedding so beautifully, it looked like a real fairy tale movie!

What advice do you have for couples planning a San Antonio wedding?

“Take your time. Shop around with vendors. Always go to the main source when ordering or having things made, cut the middle man out.”
