How They Met

Patrick and Barbie were introduced by a mutual friend.

“She and I both love the outdoors so we travel to Arizona for my birthday to hike mount Humphreys,” Barbie said. “Her friend Patrick, who is also an extreme outdoorsman, met us there and we all hiked to the top. I guess you could call it love at first hike! We have been together ever since, traveling and climbing in the US, Canada, and now Europe! The best is yet to come!”

The Proposal

In May 2019, the couple took a vacation to Breckenridge, Colorado with the intent to hike to the top of Quandry Peak.

“Just near the peak, he asked a passerby to take our picture,” Barbie said. “Of course, I put on my best face. I was ready to take an Instagram-worthy photo, complete with mountains in the backdrop when Patrick suddenly got down on one knee and proposed. We got our Instagram pics all right! And I got a new fiancé!”

The Design 

The couple wanted something very classy and elegant, but intimate and timeless.

“We both value family and close friends so we wanted our wedding to reflect that,” she said.

The Venue & Vendors

“Our venue and vendors all had the same values we did,” Barbie said.

Keeping it classy, intimate, and elegant was the goal.

“I did a lot of homework and read a ton of reviews before selecting our vendors, and I am so glad that I did,” she said. “All of our vendors went above and beyond our expectations to make sure We were thrilled with their services. I would highly recommend everyone that we used.”

Advice for Couples

“Consider what you love together as a couple,” she said. “Dial down your style and then choose your wedding venue and vendors based on your own personal style. Also, try to remember that you can’t please everyone in that this is YOUR big day. Be present and try not to sweat the small stuff.”
