What it's like to stay at

The Emily Morgan Hotel

Hey Bridal Babes,

If you keep up with the buzz on Instagram, you already know I stayed at The Emily Morgan hotel over the weekend. Here’s my honest take on my experience at the historic, downtown San Antonio hotel.

The Emily Morgan Hotel invited me to stay with no hidden agenda. I was to stay at one of the rooms a couple may stay at when they book the hotel for wedding blocks. These suites are located at the tip of the hotel and overlook the entire Downtown San Antonio landscape. The view faces toward the south and includes a birdseye view of The Alamo.

From the moment I pulled up to the hotel in my little charcoal blue honda to the moment I walked into my room, I felt taken care of. Every room booking comes with a valet. Fancy, huh? As an inexperienced valet user, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could simply text a number to retrieve my car. When I made my way to the check-in desk, I received a smiling face, and I got a bag full of goodies, including a mouth-watering chocolate chip cookie!

Room 1208 included a large hot tub/shower combo, vanity space, two sinks, high ceilings, tall cathedral windows, a comfortable king bed, convertible sofa-bed, a writing desk, large HD tv, and coffee & snacks. My favorite thing about the suite was the tub! It was genuinely a full-functioning hot tub, water jets included, and french window panes open directly adjacent to the tub, so one doesn’t have to lose sight of the hotel’s incredible view.

My partner and I enjoyed a meal at Oro, the hotel’s restaurant & bar. The food was tasty, and the staff was kind. We ordered Moscow mules and IPAs along with ribeye and chicken dinners. We ate the entire thing, even wiped the plates down with our potatoes for the final bite. We enjoyed a stroll along the riverwalk and enjoyed downtown San Antonio’s tourist activity.

In the morning, we made our way back down to Oro for breakfast. I enjoyed the Oro breakfast plate, and my partner built an omelet. After, we dipped our feet into the stainless steel pool. The pool is right next to the workout space, so I enjoyed a light workout. Meanwhile, my partner ran up and drew a bath.  He expressed a mild obsession for the water jets.
