About Pat O’Brien’s Briars Suite
Intimate Weddings and Rehearsal Dinners
The Briar’s Suite, located on the second floor above Pat O’s Courtyard Restaurant, is an elegant double parlor decorated in French-European style with a complete bar, copper topped grand piano, and private balcony. Each parlor features a black marble fireplace, wood floors and beautiful antique chandeliers and furnishings. Combined, both parlors will accommodate large groups. The Briars is perfect for any function big or small, elegant or casual.
The Briar’s Suite was named in honor of Napoleon Bonaparte’s favorite retreat on the Isle of St. Helena. Napoleon discovered the Briar’s on his way from Jamestown to his newly planned residence, The Longview House. A valley filled with lush foliage, large white roses and geraniums enchanted the emperor, as did a waterfall from 100 feet above, which sprayed a cool mist on the estate below. The proprietor agreed to let Napoleon stay there while The Longview House was being renovated. Because he was so enamored with the estate, Napoleon left only twice during his stay.
