Nicole & Steve

Music has always been a big part of Nicole and Steve’s life together. In fact, it played a part in bringing them together.
Nicole was playing a gig at Max’s Wine Dive. A handsome looking man walks in with his friends to celebrate a birthday. One of the friends, who would later serve as their officiant, asked her to play a birthday song for Steve. Nicole played an excerpt of a beautiful song she had recently heard only a couple of days earlier, and needless to say, that did the trick, Steve was smitten for Nicole.

Our Venue was Perfect
The Veranda is tucked away in a lush and beautiful outdoor setting, in the heart of the city. Nicole always wanted an outdoor wedding and this would be the perfect setting.
“I chose The Veranda because it had everything I was looking for: onsite catering, beautiful outdoor setting and a pavilion that could be opened to the outdoors.” explains Nicole.

Exceeding our Expectations
“I gave our florist Erin, from Eden’s Echo, free creative reign so when I saw the finished product I was blown away. She really executed my vision of a romantic and whimsical wedding with incredible centerpieces, a floral chandelier, candles, votives and just the most beautiful bouquet I think I’ve ever seen. She was the superstar of our wedding and really created the breathtaking atmosphere I was going for.” explains Nicole.
Nicole chose Benji at Cedar & Oak Entertainment for her DJ & Lighting. “I loved that he was just as passionate as we were about incorporating the music that is the fabric of our relationship. And even better, he was able to do a phenomenal job with the lighting, sound and staging.” said Nicole.
For her hair and makeup, Nicole decided on Madame Make-up on Location. “They were able to execute four completely different hair and makeup looks for my mother, my stepdaughter, my best friend and myself. We loved what they did for each of us.” explains Nicole.
Sometimes your best memories come from services you least suspect. “We hired Monica with Reel Photo Booth and they were a huge success! We went all out for the mirror Photo Booth and our guests loved it, in fact, they are some of my favorite pictures from the night.” said Nicole.

A Record Player Cake
Nicole chose Nadler’s Bakery for her wedding cake. For the grooms cake she turned to Cake Art.
“The groom’s cake was a unique favorite for everyone. We worked with Cake Art and they did an incredible job recreating a carrot cake in disguise of a vinyl record player! In addition, we had a s’mores bar from Spice of Life Catering, that was a big hit.” explains Nicole.

When More is Less
For Nicole and Steve staying true to who they are and creating an event as they wanted was very important.
“One thing that was very important to us was to have an intimate wedding of 100 guests or under. We caught some flak from family and friends who were offended, but ultimately it didn’t matter because we were so happy with the crowd who came and anything bigger would not have been true to what we wanted.” explains Nicole.
Lily, an 8-year-old Shih Tzu was Nicole’s only Bridesmaid.
