How They Met

Even thought it took six months to even become friends after meeting, Ashley and Briana were meant to be. Introduced by life long mutual friends, the two couldn’t be more grateful to have met. After forming a special friendship, they were brought closer and closer together over the next couple years by their life courses. They say marry your best friend, and Ashley and Briana did just that.

The Proposal 

Briana’s family had a trip planned to Alaska, giving Ashley the absolute best chance to propose to her best friend. Ashley made the smart decision of packing a “just in case” carry on bag to store the ring or the ring would have been lost with the rest of her luggage. Luckily, she had the ring as the key to their proposal which included a wine picnic, the mountains, a secluded dock, and more love that can be measured.

Briana planned a counter proposal as the highlight of their staycation in Austin, Texas. Briana took Ashley to do many local activities that she, as a local herself, had never done. The big question came on a rented retro-feel boat on Lady Bird Lake. Accompanied by Ashley’s parents virtually, Ashley said yes just as Briana had. They were welcomed back to their hotel room with a celebration package from Ashley’s parents.

Their Wedding

The Inspiration

As a couple, Ashley and Briana love being outside together. Whether that be exploring, hiking, or getting married, they love being in nature. Already having state park passes, they felt McKinney Falls would be the perfect place to exchange vows. Neither of them wanted to put pressure on friends and family to travel for their wedding, so they decided that an elopement would be perfect for their idea of a dream wedding. They each invited two people and Briana’s daughter was their flower girl.

Chosen Vendors

Ashley and Briana wanted a photographer that would capture the love they have for each other and that would mesh well with them. Estefana did just that. Estefana was creative and was the perfect fit for the couple. They chose a good friend, Manny Arce, to officiate which kept the friendship theme going.

Unique Elements

One of the couple’s favorite elements of their elopement was getting in the water in their gowns for photos. It was also unique to be in a park in their stunning wedding gowns that you wouldn’t typically see in that setting. They also felt the love and support from the stranger’s who passed by. People that were on a hike or taking family photos took the time to say congratulations and give their best. Ashley and Briana could not have asked for a more wonderful way to start their forever.
