How Did You Meet?

John & Caitlyn met at Baylor University just a week before she was about to graduate! It was fate!!

John caught COVID during the holidays while he was back home in Arizona. He had to stay a few extra days due to this and promised Caitlyn an amazing date night when he got back home to make up for it. They went to Caitlyn’s favorite date spot, The Pearl Brewery.

“As we were approaching, there was a photographer snapping pics by the fountain with rose petals and candles everywhere! I assumed it was a leftover proposal at first but then wondered… is this for me? He got down on one knee and I said YES! Both of our families were waiting to celebrate upstairs at the Boiler House. It was perfect!”

What Inspired the Design or Theme of Your Wedding Day?

Caitlyn has been planning her wedding since she was little and it was now time for her to make that dream wedding, come to life.

“I love traditional, with a modern twist, and zero greenery. I definitely wanted a black tie feel! The most important thing to John and I was that everyone had a BLAST and I think we accomplished that with a good mix of romance. It truly was perfect in my eyes and we feel so lucky to start our marriage off in such a special way.”

What Were Some of The Most Unique Elements of Your Wedding?

“We had a custom crest designed by my sister in law that we put EVERYWHERE- on the dance floor, cake, custom bar, etc… I was a Baylor cheerleader, so we put my old pom-poms by the grooms cake. I designed a custom photo wall with scarlet rose – checkerboard (one of my fav patterns) with a neon sign and gold squares placed throughout. We had chick fil a as a late-night snack”

What Advice Do You Have for Couples Planning a San Antonio Wedding?

“Don’t be afraid to reach out to other couples or even vendors for questions, it can be overwhelming if you’ve never been a bride before! Hire Scarlet Rose Events- best decision I made. BUT most importantly, take mental snapshots of all of the sweet memories you’ll create with your fiancé along the way. Truly focus on taking it all in! Be true to y’all as a couple- when people say everyone is going to have an opinion and input, that is so true! So just stick to what your heart and gut tells you. “
