Sisterdale Dance Hall
& Opera House
Historic Romance & Rustic Ambiance

Brides and grooms seeking true Texas character don’t have to look far. North of Boerne is Sisterdale Dancehall & Opera House—evoking the romance and rustic ambiance of yesteryear.
At more than 130 years old, the Sisterdale Dancehall holds bragging rights as one of the oldest dancehalls in the state. Its architecture has been restored to its original glory, and its Hill Country surroundings seem untouched by the passing of time.
The hall offers wedding couples one of the most historic places in Texas. By day, the oak trees and crystal clear creek provide gorgeous scenery. By night, the property shines as lights illuminate the stone walls of our pre-Civil War fort.

For an outdoor ceremony, couples can wed on a verdant bluff that overlooks the gently flowing creek. Or if brides and grooms desire an old-fashioned chapel feel, they can hold their nuptials in the dancehall which boasts a soaring wooden beamed ceiling and wooden floors.
The dancehall, one of the few to provide the comforts of air conditioning and heating, can host up to 225 guests. Round banquet tables, chairs, a state-of-the-art sound system and an event coordinator are provided. The stone steps of the venue’s Biergarten lead to the bar where cocktails and hors d’oeuvres can be served.
Over its legendary history, the Sisterdale Dancehall has hosted some of the most successful country music entertainers, such as George Strait and Brooks & Dunn, in music videos and commercials. Guests can kick up their heels on the 340-year-old pine floors preserved by the venue’s owner, prominent attorney Wayne Wright.
“Our Texas dancehalls are an important part of our cultural heritage that we need to preserve, protect, and honor,” he says.
