Elegant Spaces with Plenty of Possibilities

Couples looking to celebrate their wedding in an elegant, luxury setting with the seclusion of a country venue will be pleased with what the Phoenician Ballroom at St. George Maronite Center has to offer.

Situated on 25 acres in the northwest side of San Antonio and surrounded by towering trees this secluded venue, once the city’s best-kept secret, continues to be a wedding destination of choice amongst brides and grooms today.

The Courtyard is an ideal place for an outdoor ceremony. Chairs line the area facing a garden fountain while café lights illuminate overhead offering a romantic ambiance. The space is also a great option for a cocktail hour and lounge seating.

While its pristine landscaping and contemporary architecture is appealing, it’s what’s inside that attracts couples. Renovated in 2004, the 10,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom offers the extravagance of four-star hotel ballroom without the hustle and bustle of downtown, and all for a price that’s reasonable.

“We know that there are several wonderful places for couples to celebrate their wedding. But what makes the St. George a great choice is that our ‘standard’ packages offer a lot of luxury items that would otherwise be such an expensive upgrade at other venues and we’re not just going to use the most affordable services. We use reputable products and vendors in the area. We wouldn’t want the linens to be stained or torn on the day of your wedding. Quality is very important and we offer nothing less than great.”

Details were not overlooked when renovations took place a few years ago. The foyer hints of the elegance within the Grand Ballroom. Visitors are greeted with a gorgeous crystal chandelier and dark granite floors. Inside neutral colors, silk drapery, crown molding and recess lighting fill the space making it a versatile backdrop for a couple with sophisticated taste. Elegant crystal chandeliers and sconces located throughout the room provide a warm glow to a romantic space. A permanent parquet dance floor, spacious stage and full bar area are additional attractions the St. George Maronite Center offers.

With enough room to host large celebrations of more than 500 guests, this is a popular choice for many couples. But for those with a more intimate guest list, the venue can accommodate events in its Silver Salon with room for 180, which features a separate entrance, high ceiling, stage area and dance floor.

Whichever room couples choose, the rental fee includes round tables, floor-length linens, a centerpiece of cylinder vases with floating candles, china and silverware, security for the event, setup and cleanup and plenty of free, lighted parking.

While the venue’s décor and size are appealing, cuisine does not go overlooked. St. George’s executive chef has more than 10 years of experience and offers couples several options to cater to their tastes. With everything from a five-course sit down dinner to cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, the catering team offers delicious fares of all cultures.
