New Beginnings in SA
Dominique & Christopher
How They Met
The two were introduced by a mutual friend. Christopher had just graduated from Texas Christian University while Dominique was attending Texas State University. After being friends for about a year, Christopher offered to show Dominique around San Antonio while she was visiting with family. Shortly after their first date, they began dating and have been doing long-distance for 3 years now!
While Christopher was visiting Dominique’s family during Christmas, he sneakily asked her dad for his permission for Dominique’s hand. The next day, the couple drove to San Antonio to spend Christmas with his family and on New Year’s Day, Christopher planned a romantic dinner at the Fairmount Hotel’s Rooftop Terrace. After asking the waiter to take a photo of them on the sky deck, Chris got down on one knee and asked Dominique the big question! Dominiques says, “It was the perfect spot with a scenic view of the San Antonio skyline. San Antonio holds so many beautiful memories that we made throughout our relationship!” The two celebrated their recent engagement with champagne as they watched the sunset downtown.
The Planning Process
Jewelry Store for Ring Purchase: Family heirloom
Bridal Gown Shop: Olivia Grace Bridal
“I said yes to the dress at Olivia Grace Bridal! It was just me and my mom at the appointment. My experience was absolutely amazing, it was intimate and so special. Olivia Grace has such an inviting feel along with so much character inside. I ended up with the very last dress I tried on. It was actually the very first one that I wanted to try on, but we were waiting to see if it would come in on time. At the end of my appointment, we were told that it would be here in time for the wedding. As soon as we got the news, we added a veil and the happy tears started to flow! My dress is everything I have dreamed about and I am so excited for Chris to see it on our special day.”
Reception Venue: Texas Tech Alumni Frazier Pavillion
“I have a large family compared to Christopher. We ultimately decided to have our wedding in Lubbock because of the proximity to the majority of our guests. We also see it as a goodbye party to my life in West Texas. It is a special place to us because the first time we ever hung out as friends together was at a TCU vs. Texas Tech football game!”
